Things to do in Palermo

Palermo is a barrio of Buenos Aires, not the Sicilian city of the same name, and the mix-up is worth clearing up before anything else.

It is also large: the name covers Palermo Soho (fashion shops, restaurants), Palermo Hollywood (bars and nightlife) and the Bosques de Palermo, the parkland with the rose garden and its lakes, and none of these sub-areas gets a separate page here.

Covering all three without rushing takes at least a full day, closer to a day and a half if the parks are included. Distances between the sub-zones run to 2-3 kilometres, roughly 25-40 minutes on foot or a short taxi ride of around 5-8 EUR, so treating Palermo as one point on a map undersells it.
