Good to know
- Argentina uses Type C & I sockets — Type I sockets have two flat pins angled in a V-shape, alongside the European-style Type C — at 220V / 50Hz.
- Argentina mainly uses Type I sockets (the same flat, angled-pin style as Australia), though many buildings also accept European Type C plugs with two round pins. Travellers from the UK (Type G) and North America (Types A/B, 120V) will need an adapter, and North American visitors should also check their devices are dual-voltage (100–240V) before plugging in.
- Emergency services: dial 911 anywhere in Argentina for police, ambulance or fire. Heading out to an estancia or on a delta boat trip? It's still worth keeping your tour operator's contact number handy.
