Things to do at the Iguazú Falls

The Iguazú Falls are not a day trip from Buenos Aires: the only sensible way in is a flight of about two hours to Puerto Iguazú, not a drive, and trying to do it in a single day out and back from the capital is a mistake worth ruling out here.

The classic visit runs two days, one on the Argentine side for the walkways and the Garganta del Diablo, one on the Brazilian side for the panoramic view across the river, which means a separate border crossing and a second currency.

Return flights typically run from around EUR 150-300 depending on season and how far ahead you book, and Puerto Iguazú itself sits roughly 1,300 km north of Buenos Aires, in a subtropical climate noticeably warmer and more humid than the capital.
