Things to do in La Boca

La Boca is a former dockworkers' barrio south of San Telmo, built by Italian immigrants along the Riachuelo, and it is best treated as a single short visit rather than a district to wander.

The genuinely safe, touristy stretch is only a few streets around Caminito, walkable in under 15 minutes and busiest from late morning to mid-afternoon; outside that pocket, and after dark anywhere in the barrio, it is not somewhere to explore alone.

A taxi or rideshare in and out, rather than the Subte (the nearest line stops well short), keeps the visit simple and costs roughly EUR 4-7 each way from the centre. Budget an hour or two here, combined with San Telmo or the stadium, not a full day.
